This TradeSmith Tool Found The Seasonal “Sweet Spot” For Gold And Silver

By Mike Burnick

It’s been a while since my Sunday school days, but one adage still stands out: “To everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven.”

I won’t spend time pontificating on purpose here, but everything in nature moves in cycles. There’s comfort in that predictability.

And though the stock market sometimes seems like the opposite of comfortable or predictable sometimes, cycles can indeed be found in the financial markets.

Enough so that we created something at TradeSmith that homes in on these cyclical stock trends – year after year.

It’s Not All Chaos

There are seasonal trends that can make investing in certain assets more profitable during certain time periods. Whether you’re trading stocks, bonds, commodities, or even cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, there are always cycles driving prices higher… and lower, too.

These cycles and seasonal trends can give you a big advantage with your trade timing and boost your odds of winning trades – but identifying them can be extremely difficult.

That’s where our Trade Cyclestools come into the picture.

To put the power of these market cycles into your hands, our team of researchers and software engineers analyzed decades worth of historical price data and seasonal market trends. And they used that data to build a system that can identify recurring patterns – and provide you with exact buy and sell dates to help give you an edge in your trading.

With stocks becoming increasingly volatile in recent weeks, many investors are looking for alternative investments to help diversify their portfolios… and that makes tools like these invaluable.

Right now, our seasonality tools have identified ongoing bullish seasonal trends in two commodity markets. As it turns out, both have pulled back recently, offering attractive trading opportunities.

So, in today’s issue of Inside TradeSmith, we’ll take Trade Cycles for a spin as we look into hot seasonal opportunities in gold and silver – courtesy of our powerful seasonality tools.

All That Glitters Is Set to Grow!

Let’s start by taking a closer look at gold’s seasonal sweet spot, by logging into TradeSmith Financeand pulling up a chart in the Trade Cycles Seasonality tool:

To view this seasonal chart for the SPDR Gold ETF (GLD), subscribers with access to Trade Cyclesor TradeSmith Platinumcan simply enter “GLD” in the Search for Ticker box at the top right of their Home page.

Once you’re on the Asset Details page for GLD, just click on Trade Cycles tab and you’ll find a wealth of seasonality and cycles information. By default, this tab will take you to the Annual Patternsection – and show you the Seasonality chart above.

By exploring the chart, we can see that GLD has a bullish seasonal pattern that starts at the end of June and runs through early September.

The Pattern Statistics at the bottom of the chart shows that over the past 15 years of trading, GLD has risen between June 30 and Sept. 5 an impressive 73% of the time – posting average gains of 5.2% on average (and median returns of 7.2%) during this bullish seasonal period!

For my money, that’s a consistent sweet spot for trading everyone’s favorite yellow metal. And with GLD fresh off of an 8% pullback in price over the past month, gold could be set up for an even bigger rebound.

Seasonality Shines On The Silver Bugs

If gold glitters at this time of year, silver shines even brighter. Just take a look at the Seasonality chart for the iShares Silver ETF (SLV) below:

Our Trade Cycles Seasonality data shows that after a period of seasonal weakness in the first half of the year, silver is primed to move, historically speaking: It shares a seasonal sweet spot with gold, starting at the end of June and running into early September.

Over the last 15 years of trading, SLV has risen between June 29 and Sept. 4 60% of the time, delivering even larger average gains of 9.23% (and a median return of 7.1%!).

With this bullish period for silver representing potential annualized returns of more than 50%, it’s absolutely on my list of assets to research during this hot seasonal window.

These are just two opportunities found by our powerful seasonality tools – and just a small taste of the insights provided by our Trade Cycles software. And by adding Seasonality filters into your favorite TradeSmith screeners, you can find even more trades with strong seasonal potential all year round.

Mike Burnick’s Bottom Line: Our Trade Cycles Seasonal tool helps you quickly identify potentially profitable seasonal trends in stocks, commodities and many other assets. This data can give you a big edge when it comes to your trade timing, helping you more accurately pinpoint the best times of year to buy and sell.

Good investing,

P.S. In today’s volatile market, figuring out which assets to buy is critical… but knowing the exact time when to buy can make all the difference in the world.

As we saw today, for example, it’s a great time to consider buying gold or silver now. But on the other hand, if you were to buy in at the end of this bullish window, you could end up taking a loss – on top of missing out on two months of solid profits.

The Seasonality tool we used today is just one part of TradeSmith’s groundbreaking suite of Trade Cycles Seasonality and Timing tools, but it’s a massive aid when it comes to planning out trades.

By harnessing the power of advanced machine learning, our research and development team has built an easy-to-use tool that can review decades of trading data in seconds to find the absolute best days of the year to buy and sell any stock.

Recently, we rolled out a series of major updates to the Trade Cycles software suite – but we’re continuing to improve and upgrade these incredible tools all the time. And our newest additions are so exciting that TradeSmith’s CEO, Keith Kaplan, is going live to spread the word.

This Thursday, July 16, at 1:00 p.m. Eastern, Keith will host the Breakthrough 2026 event to walk you through the latest developments in our seasonality research… and while he’s at it, he’ll also explore all the ways seasonality can supercharge your investing for the rest of 2026.
