NOVONIX Divests Non-Core Business to Focus on Synthetic Graphite
NOVONIX Limited has finalized the sale of its Battery Technology Solutions (BTS) division in Nova Scotia to former CEO Dr. Chris Burns for US$1.00. The divested business will operate as two independent companies: Avrion Battery Labs Inc. (battery testing) and Dryve Battery Materials Inc. (cathode materials). NOVONIX retains a 15% equity stake in the cathode business and will receive US$2M in cash. The company is refocusing on its core strategy of building a vertically integrated synthetic graphite supply chain in North America.

NOVONIX US$103 Million 48C Tax Credits Certified for Synthetic Graphite Facility
NOVONIX Limited has received U.S. Government certification for its Riverside project in Chattanooga, Tennessee, unlocking US$103 million in tax credits under the Section 48C Advanced Energy Project Credit Program. The company will receive these credits upon placing its first 11,000 tpa of synthetic graphite production in service before April 7, 2028. This certification reflects government confidence in NOVONIX's role in establishing a domestic synthetic graphite supply chain for battery materials.

The U.S. Department of Commerce has imposed final antidumping and countervailing duties totaling 160%+ on anode active materials (AAM) imported from China. The duties include a 93.5-102.72% antidumping duty and a 66.82-66.86% countervailing duty. These measures are subject to final approval by the U.S. International Trade Commission in March 2026 and are intended to protect the domestic battery materials industry and strengthen U.S. supply chains.
